In-Country Professional Translation
CSOFT believes in using only in-country and professional translators to achieve the highest translation quality. When it comes to both technically and culturally accurate translations, no other approach comes close to using in-country translators/technical writers whose mother tongue is the target language. In a good piece of translation, there is more than merely using correct language conventions such as grammar, proper date and currency formats, etc. The nuances and culturally appropriate expressions can only be mastered by someone who lives and experiences them in his/her daily life.

Terminology Management
Terminology management is essential for maintaining consistent and accurate terminology in the localization of a product or across different products and releases. However, terminology management is sometimes underestimated in the localization process due to time and cost constraints. These constraints often prevent thorough research to find the correct translations for specific terms or to maintain professional terminology management databases or termbases. Using terminology tools, CSOFT can help our clients create and maintain product specific glossaries, which are used across all projects to ensure the basis for consistent high-quality translations within and across product information.

Computer Aided Translation (Translation Memory)
Computer Aided Translation or Translation Memory tools can have significant benefits for quality and efficiency in product localization. Translation Memory greatly reduces the time and cost of translation within and across product lines by enabling translators to repurpose or recycle translations of repeated content across products, components and releases. Another important benefit for using TM is the overall consistency between translations across products and different releases for the same client. During translation, TM tools are used to create a database of source and translated text usually segmented by sentences or paragraphs. Translated text is then repurposed wherever the same source text occurs. In instances where the text is similar but not identical, a translator edits the segment for accuracy.

Translation Style Guide
A Translation Style Guide provides important guidelines for a wide range of issues during localization including: linguistic issues, country-specific issues such as currency, placement of addresses/phone numbers, screen terminology, use of abbreviations, language-specific document conventions. One Style Guide should be provided per language. A well developed Translation Style Guide will help deliver consistent results that meet a specific requirement of our client company.
